Our Story
The South Sudan National Olympic Committee (SSNOC) was officially recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in 2015, marking a historic milestone for the world's youngest nation.
Since our independence in 2011, sport has played a crucial role in unifying our diverse communities and providing hope for our youth. The SSNOC serves as the governing body for Olympic sports in South Sudan, working tirelessly to develop athletic talent and promote the Olympic values of excellence, friendship, and respect.
Our journey began with a small delegation to the 2016 Rio Olympics, where we proudly competed as an independent nation for the first time. Today, we continue to grow our sports programs, support our athletes, and build a foundation for future Olympic champions.
